I’ve been studying on and off for a while now, recently more on. Personally everything is timing. I knew the author is well known and I will get a lot out of this book. I know this is a more advanced approach, so know that. I’m sure if you’re reading this you already do. I definitely recommend! Quick shipping too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In-Depth, Psychoanalytical Understanding of Saturn and the "Shadow" Nature *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 12, 2018* This is one of best books I have read about astrology. It was a mesmerizing read; I could not put it down since I have received it, and that was two weeks' ago. I have read it over and over again, underlining and journaling with the book. I will continue to reference and work with this book for years to come.Liz Greene provides an in-depth, Jungian psychoanalytical understanding of Saturn in each of the houses and signs, as well as Saturn's aspects in the astrological chart. The signs are combined with their corresponding houses (for example, Saturn in the 4th with Saturn in Cancer). Each Saturn position covers about 3-4 pages, focusing on Saturn's esoteric and practical meanings. Greene also includes information about what one's childhood may have been like, as well as their personal perspectives on masculine energy. She discusses ways in which Saturn unfolds the person's unique process of individuation (a Jungian term about how to integrate archetypal energies in a healthy way).The only thing I wish she covered more of was a practical application of how to integrate each Saturn position or aspect. She very briefly covers the task at hand from an esoteric, spiritual level; however, she provides no immediate, concrete steps to do so. Perhaps this is best determined by a qualified therapist trained in behavioral modalities, rather than just psychoanalytics.Luckily, there is no mention of remedies that erroneously understand Saturn as solely a planet of limitation and suffering. Greene goes as deep as possible to give the reader an understanding of what Saturn is trying to accomplish within the person's psyche.Knowing this inner process and choosing to hold Saturn in high regard has, for me, contributed to a greater feeling of self-acceptance and self-confidence. I now see my Saturn position and its many aspects as opportunities for growth and exploration of different aspects of my humanness rather than obstacles I must overcome. I am in my first Saturn return, and reading this book has given me more hope and acceptance of my unique life task and journey. I am also a Vedic astrologer, yoga teacher, Reiki and Ayurvedic practitioner and student of psychology, mysticism and comparative theology. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a deeper, holistic understanding of themselves.A powerful book for anyone who has a fascination with astrology, psychology, spirituality, somatic work or other healing modalities. Even for the average person who is only vaguely aware of their Saturn placement and astrological chart, I would recommend this book.
