It also had a big clamp you had to bring down on the lids and set perfectly in order for it to run. This Bosch machine is the same as what you would get in the US or Europe. You just put the lid on and turn the knob. It's not very heavy but it is still powerful. Also, no nooks and crannys for food and dirt to live it. It is so well made, you don't have to worry about this. I made hummus in the food processor and it was smooth just as it should be. I chopped some things in the small chopper and it was powerful and fast and could easily make chutney. The quality also doesn't justify the price. Disappointed with Bosch. Also, Amazon won't replace/return this product for quality issues. Fortunately, the product was also defective, hence Amazon accepted return.
