I personally have a ebike and a mountain bike that both have 2.5 inch wide tires but I've hauled a friends road bike and there's no movement or bouncing. To whom it may concern this is a yes or no question. Might or might not doesn't work for this question. If you haven't hauled a road bike then please don't guess. **Q: Will this car bike rack rust?** A: I have no idea, but you can buy a Hiroumer bike cover which will protect your bike and your car bike rack well. **Q: Can this be tilted with the bikes loaded?** A: I purchased the 4 bike version and even by itself, it is extremely heavy. It is made out of steel and not aluminum. If the bikes were loaded and you trigger the tilt, it would be very difficult to raise back up. I would not recommend tilting the 4 bike version fully loaded. I presume the two bike version is lighter of its own accord and then it is the weight of the bikes... **Q: Will this rack work with a step-thru bike?** A: It should work. You have two hold-downs - one is for a tall bar and the other is for a short bar. The tall bar hold-down is the locking one, but you still use it to lock down the short bar. The rack works great for my mountain ebike which weights in at about fifty pounds. The rack has very little wobble and is very secure.
