Upon opening and placing a battery and I noticed that the second hand was getting hung up. I had to remove the front plastic and straighten out the hand and placed it back together hoping it would keep time. Luckily I looked out and it Worked fine. Otherwise I would’ve had to send this back. I do remember reading reviews across multiple clocks saying that this was a problem I think it’s pretty much you get what you pay for so if you’re handy and you can do the repair yourself then I would say go for it. Or you may just get lucky and one that’s working fantastic. It’s relatively easy To do it’s just an inconvenience. I do like the large numerals and I love the pattern of the compass.
