Our glitter is certified as non toxic and, should it be eaten, it will do you no harm at all and will simply pass through your digestive system. This glitter is not able to be classed as an edible product as it is not digestable and a recent EU law states that we must now tell you these glitters cannot be applied to food for consumption. They can however be used on decorations that are removed before eating your cake. Please note that this is the same glitter we have always sold but we have now had to change the wording on our labeling because of this new law. Our glitter is certified as non toxic and, should it be eaten, it will do you no harm at all and will simply pass through your digestive system. I even looked on the, 'Holly Cupcakes' website and still no joy. However, edible glitter mainly consists of common ingredients;- sugar, acacia (gum arabic), maltodextrin, cornstarch, and colour additives specifically approved for food use. To my surprise the label says, '17g - Decorative Use Only,' it is to do with the EU Law Regulations. Although the edible glitter is non toxic and will 'pass through your system,' apparently it is not recommended. I hope this helps.
