## Description

DECAPSULATED or “shell-free” NON-HATCHING BRINE SHRIMP EGGS are typically fed directly to a wide variety of tropical fish - providing excellent nutritional value without the necessity and down-time of hatching. The outer shell, the chorion, has been chemically removed or oxidized using a concentrated chlorine solution. This process leaves the thin hatching membrane surrounding the unhatched brine shrimp embryo intact. Decapsulated brine shrimp eggs theoretically have a higher energy value than live brine shrimp since the energy consumed in the hatching process is conserved. Lipids and amino acids are left largely intact. Simply rehydrate the decapsulated brine shrimp eggs for a few minutes in fresh water and feed directly to your fry or juveniles (This step is not generally necessary for adult fish.). Note: A small amount of decapsulated eggs goes a long way. Don't overfeed. Again, these are non-hatching brine shrimp eggs. An excellent feed for angelfish, goldfish, and guppies! Also well accepted by coryadora and plecostami. Analysis: Protein, 53.6%; Acid Fat, 7.3%; Fiber, 19.6%; Moisture, 8.3%; Ash, 4.9%. Recent lot analysis for presence of heavy metals: Arsenic, 15.2 ppm; Cadmium, <0.5 ppm; Lead, <5.0ppm; Mercury, 0.01 ppm; Chromium, <1.0 ppm. [Midwest Laboratories, 01.04.18]

Review: Excellent for fish food, the fish love them and they seem nutritious - My fish love these. I pre-soak them in tank water with a tiny drop of vitamins, and then gently dip the bowl into the tank. Most of the eggs produce a cloud of food, while some also float. The fish love them and they seem to be very nutritious. I swear my fish were colorful before, but have colored up even more eating these. While you probably shouldn't depend on them exclusively for your fish, they are excellent for feeding daily with a little something else to vary it up. My gourami is extremely picky about eating only the tiniest food, so these work great for him.
Review: Fish love it... - My finicky angel fish doesn't eat anything until I bought this. She loves and even waits at the surface when I walk up with it... she knows. She absolutely loves this. I ave tried every food out there and decided to give this a go. I was worried she wasn't eating enough and now, she won't stop. Highly recommend. Very easy to prepare and feed. I also feed my juvenile angels this food. Win win!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How do I get these to sink? I'm trying to feed mid-water feeding fish, and these just stay floating.**
A: I put them in a small container filled with water and shake the container. This will cause the majority of the eggs to sink. Some will still float, you can poke them with your finger to break the water tension and they will sink. Those that still float will be found with the fish who will rise to the top to eat them once they realize they are food. I used them with bottom feeding baby corydora catfish and this was the case.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Difficult to feed
*by T***S on June 2, 2026*

I have to admit, my fish love this food. The only problem is the clumping. It floats and migrates into a mass that swirls around your aquarium. I've tried mixing in separate container with tank water, sprinkling, dunking, swirling, nothing stops the clumps.
