Length isn't really a big deal as you're not processing huge amounts of dirt and sand at a time and you want to be able to bring the handle up and hold it while you shake out your ocean booty.We've gone to Venice beach previously (famous for getting shark teeth) and didn't find any when searching manually. 2 hours with this puppy and we found 30. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very useful *by N***R on May 2, 2014* The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of the length of the handle. But because it is plastic and the place that I go to, the shells are in the surf so it was unavoidable to not add the pressure in the handle that eventually cracked it where the rod adjoins the blue base. For me it did not last one season but next time I will look for an all metal one.
