Review: Great ink, great price, great quality - Got some of this ink in Japan at twice the price! So getting it from desertcart UK at a better price, winning! Great ink for regular users, quite thick but great quality and colour. Not for beginners though, so if you know what you’re doing, you’ll be golden.
Review: A decent quality and inexpensive Sumi ink for drawing or lettering - I have used this ink for quite some time and I would make the following comments: 1. It is a decent sumi type ink and benefits from slight dilution 2. It is not remotely waterproof, but sumi ink never is 3. The nozzle dispenser is a good idea which prevents spills 4. It produces good ink washes if required in drawings 5. It is very black when undiluted 6. It should never be used in a fountain pen - it will clog the feed 7. It is excellent value for money, especially when compared to Kuretake 8. On water colour paper it can show interesting textured granulation

**Q: Is this ink made of animal glue? Just realised that's what traditional sumi ink is made of and that freaks me out a lot**
A: To my knowledge Sumi ink is a carbon based ink or was in the past from 
burning wood rather like charcoal

**Q: Will this ink ruin fountain pens?**
A: Yes, it will clog the feed

**Q: Does this smell funny when you use it?**
A: I've never had my nose close enough to my ink pot to notice a smell so I can't say with confidence that it does or doesn't smell. I've never noticed.

**Q: why is this so expensive? It's more than 10x that of other brands and seems same as the Kuretake brand which is about £25.00.  Is it much superior?**
A: Japanese inks are always more expensive as they are better quality but Kuretake Calligraphy ink is superb and I use it all of the time so save yourself some money and buy Kuretake
