I found this "memory saver" on Amazon and decided to order it and it came in just a couple days before my new battery. After watching the instructive video on how to test it for functionality and hook it up I first plugged it into the OBD 2 port and the red light on the cigarette lighter plug in lit up confirming that there was power to the port. I then unplugged it and plugged the cigarette lighter plug into the 12 volt socket on my jump starter and it lit up for that too. Then I plugged both ends in one to the 12 volt socket and the other end to the OBD2 port and the red light stayed lit. A little while ago my new battery showed up so I hooked up the memory saver and then proceeded to unhook the old battery and removing it from the vehicle. I then installed the new battery and hooked it up and then unhooked the memory saver. I started my truck up and turned on the radio and all presets were still there so this memory saver did its job. It even came in a zip lock bag for storage so I am real happy with this purchase. ### ⭐ Not a useful product for maintaining power to the vehicle computer *by G***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 5, 2019* I purchased this product to maintain power to the vehicle's computer memory while I would remove the 12V battery and clean up the battery box, paint it, wait for it to dry, and then replace this battery after the paint would dry well overnight. Well, shucks, this has the wrong OBDII plug on it, as it will not plug into the OBDII port on a vehicle. Now, sure, one can plug the other plug for the cig outlet into the cig outlet to power a device that normally runs off the OBDII port, but why would this be anything many would want to do? I am not aware of much that would run off the OBDII port but an actual scan tool. So, this particular device is mostly useless unless you have a specialized need to have the very SAME OBDII port as on your vehicle on this device to supply 12V to something using your cig lighter outlet. Otherwise, since the OBDII plug is the SAME as on your car, it can't hook up to the OBDII port on your vehicle, as this item can only supply 12V power to some other device that hooks to an OBDII port. Odd, and strange. OK, already, maybe I didn't look closely enough at the photos of this product and read all of the reviews before buying, but it was still reasonable to assume this would actually work and plug into my vehicle's OBDII port, which it can't do! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wrong OBD connector version sent, but 2nd time was a charm *by V***B on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on May 21, 2020* I've ordered a male connector, but they had sent me a female connector 1st time. Returned it, and 2nd time they've sent me the proper male connector. That's why I gave 4 not 5 stars.
