I think this backpack was a great purchase and I love it so far! The side pockets are deep enough for my large bottle, and I love the mesh straps since it helps keep the backpack from getting too hot on my shoulders. Since it's a foldable backpack, it's SUPER lightweight, and so there's not much structure on the bottom of the backpack. If that bothers you, you may want to fold up your jacket or scarf to put at the bottom and I'm pretty sure that'll give it more shape. I'm 5'1 and I only have the straps pulled in about half-way so the backpack is hanging a little low. There's no inside pocket in the large compartment, but if you flip the "bag" the backpack folds into, you can probably put a few things in there that you won't need quick access to. Overall, I think this was a great buy for the price! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The smaller pack fits closer to the body *by R***L on December 23, 2014* I bought both, this 20L and the large 25L. The larger backpack seems to have an inch or so more width in the base of the main, and perhaps an additional two inches in the front pocket. The larger pack also has a different shoulder straps -- it's mesh in the center, and may provide more ventilation.The test:I filled them with a 13" macbook pro and as many books as I could to fit the volume. The bigger pack held two extra books (stacked vertically). Then I walked and ran some.Results:I felt the smaller pack held the weight closer to my body and therefore resulted in a far more comfortable run. For the larger pack, I got that childhood feeling of having a large backpack that swings a little hindering me from any quick movement. Also, as a small Asian, I felt the straps on the larger pack a bit awkward, going straight to the pack at the abdomen, probably because neither of them have sternum straps.Conclusion:The only reason to go for the large one is if you really need the volume, like a sleeping bag, or insulated clothing. So, I'm keeping the smaller one.Note: this is not long-term testing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome travel pack for the money! *by M***S on October 1, 2015* I was pretty skeptical that this pack would fulfill my needs despite the good reviews. However, the price was right so I decided to give it a shot.I ordered the 25L version in light blue color as I'm a cheap ass and it was $4 less. The pack arrived in 2 days via standard free super saver shipping.The material is a quality lightweight nylon similar to that used in tents or parachutes. It won't hold up to rough handling or abrasive conditions but I wasn't expecting this from a pack costing under $20.I am 6 feet tall, 350 pounds with a chest near 60 inches. The straps easily adjusted to fit my frame and comfortably supported the pack on my shoulders. While the straps have no padding, they are soft with mesh inserts that cause no discomfort and allow airflow.The zippers are of decent quality and include paracord-like pulls to make finding them easier.The stitching is surprisingly good for a pack of this type with some effort being made to add reinforcing stitches where the handle and straps connect to the bag. More on the stitching later.With a week of certification training in San Francisco scheduled followed by a week cruising the Dreamforce convention with a few days of light dayhiking in the area state parks after that, I expected to put the pack through it's paces. After determining that I wouldn't need my laptop, I strapped this on instead of my standard Swiss Gear heavy duty pack that is my EDC anytime the laptop is tagging along.The inside pocket (the one the bag stuffs into for storage) is perfect to carry a passport/ID, cash, keys, and other items that you want to keep extra safe from sly prying fingers plus it gives you a double-layer of water resistant fabric protection.I used the smaller outside pocket for lip balm, cigarettes, BART/bus passes, and other items that I wanted to keep handy.The middle compartment is great for the majority of EDC gadgets like battery banks, chargers, a small multi-tool, small first aid tin, meds, etc.The large compartment easily holds a fairly large stack of notebooks and training material plus a change of clothes.The water bottle holders are fine for securing any bottle under a liter in size. The bigger the bottle, the bigger chance that it'll fall out during jostling.I had a full 1 liter bottled water come out on an escalator while I was standing aside to let others pass me by... it tumbled down the ramp by the handrail and nearly decapitated several people along the way. You've been warned! :o)While this pack would be fine to tote a 12 to 14 inch laptop or tablet, you'll want to use a neoprene sleeve for added protection as this pack has no padding whatsoever.After nearly 2 weeks, this pack has seen regular use with an average loadout of 20 to 25 pounds. It never became uncomfortable or failed, regardless of its mission:- Commuter bag on San Francisco public transit and packed thoroughfares- My savior while I acted as my wife's tourist shopping mule- Carrying a substantial load of training materials to class- Swag collection vessel during Dreamforce- Hiking pack in several California state parks- Beach pack as we hopped down the coastThe only possible issue I noticed is that a couple of stitches near one of the carry straps started to come undone. Probably not a huge deal since there are several layers of reinforcing stitching behind that... but I have a bit of OCD sooooo I attacked the pack with my sewing machine when I got home. Every seam is now triple stitched with the handles and straps being reinforced with several patches of box stitching. More for my own piece of mind.I'm planning to purchase another of these and pack it in the existing bag for when I need extra capacity or if the bag should somehow fail.The biggest vulnerability I see is a sharp object and the nylon pack material. Some Gorilla tape or other repair tape would suffice for an emergency repair if something less than a catastrophic failure would occur.
