## Description

Round Buff Willow Wicker Straight Sided Basket so useful for so many jobs. This round basket will look comfortable in any room in your home. It is made of full buff willow wicker, with straight sides and a horizontal weave. The basket has a thicker band around the top not only to make it stronger but also to give a decorative finish. Line it with plastic for use as a small planter, or keep on the dining table or kitchen work surface and fill with fruit. Treasure baskets for small children are very popular nowadays, this basket is the perfect size. Treasure baskets are filled with every day items made from natural materials, such as a paint brush, metal spoon, feathers. It's an activity that promotes learning with babies. Willow baskets are very versatile. These are much hardier and can be used outside as they will survive in all weathers. Usually a stronger weave, they are very sturdy and solid. Grown in fields and by river banks as willow, the branches are stripped of their outer layer and usually treated before weaving. The end product is well suited to carrying weight although the baskets themselves are lightweight. Buff Willow is cropped mainly in November, but sometimes not until December. It is the most popular and is obtained by boiling the willows to release the natural colourant tannin from the bark into the wood. The bark is then stripped from the willow revealing the characteristic golden colour.

Excellent just what I needed. Many thanks for very quick delivery. Packaging could be better. It arrived in a bit of a state to be honest, torn plastic and box torn.
