HOWEVER, it took just one batch to affirm I had chosen wisely. The machine is large and heavy, but is very quiet, solidly built, fast (make a batch in 60 minutes) and easy to use. It also makes the best vegan ice cream I have ever made, as well as the best dairy ice cream. I've just started using this more frequently, as it's just a month old, but every batch has been a success.

So far...it's AWESOME. I have been shopping (and wanting) an ice-cream maker for over a year now and finally setttled on the Whynter Automatic 2.1 qt unit because I wanted something with a built-in compressor for the easiest process. This is a fantastic machine. It works perfectly as advertised and is simple to use and clean up. One of the best features is that you can make one batch after another. One of our special treats that avoids a lot of sugar is strawberry frozen yogurt. It makes for a fantastic dessert without a major calorie bomb. Of course we have made ice cream with the same great results. This will be especially fun with the grandkids when they get to choose the flavor they want. With this maker we know exactly what is in the mixture of either yogurt or ice cream. No extra additives!
