Review: Great microcontroller starter set - This is a well-stocked starter kit, and every component I have tested so far has worked as expected. I have used the breadboard, the Uno board, LEDs, resistors, ultrasonic sensor, joystick, potentiometer, jumper wires, the breadboard power board, and the 7 segment display. All of it worked as expected. So far I have just been tinkering with the Arduino hardware rather than building anything specific, but I have also used several of the components and the breadboard with ESP32 dev boards I ordered separately. If you're just getting into working with microcontrollers, this is a great kit for starting out, and you can easily add and upgrade individual components or add other types of microcontrollers like ESP32, STM32, Raspberry pi, etc. Everything arrived well-packaged and sorted into the included organizer case. The compartments are not labeled, and some pieces are crammed wherever they will fit. ideally, you'll want to reorganize everything into one or more larger organizers. I have not used the included video course or any of the included documentation, so I cannot say anything about the quality of the instruction. I used Google, YouTube, and Claude instead, and that was enough to get going. I did not count the exact number of components against the 200+ claim, but there is clearly a lot here. I am looking forward to experimenting with the NFC/RFID reader and the other included displays, motors, and sensors. At $39.99, this is good value for a beginner who wants one box with everything in it.

This Uno R3 starter kit is a solid way to get into electronics and programming. It comes with a good variety of parts, including plenty of jumper cables, sensors, LEDs, and other components. The build quality feels decent and durable enough for learning and hobby projects. Nothing felt flimsy or like it would break right away. I like that it includes a video course, which makes the education part much more approachable if you’re new to coding or circuits. It’s fun to work through the projects and see things actually work. For the money, it’s a really good value. You get enough stuff to experiment with and stay interested without having to buy a bunch of extra parts right away. 5 stars.
