Review: Good product quality compared to the price. - Mi Compact Bluetooth Speaker 2 is a good product compared to the price. Sound is very clear and bass is there. It has a very compact design and looks cool if you sling it to your backpack. Charges easily with a .2 charger and takes 1.40 hrs to charge completely to give a 6 hrs of battery backup. Overall it's a good product if you see the price. It comes with a battery saving mode; where there is no audio being played for 10 mins or not connected to any device, it turns off automatically. It notifies you when connected or disconnected. It's compact design has only one power button with which you can turn it on/off, receive/reject calls. There's no volume button so you have to control the volume through the phone or the device you have connected this to. I would be happier if it came in black or other colours too, but only white is available right now. So overall it's a good compact speaker for the room, car, bicycling or may be while you go for a walk. But if you already have a dual speaker phone then you may want to go for some more powerful speakers.
Review: Detailed review with a better a alternative. - Design - All plastic with rubber base, it's really well built so no worries in this aspect. The top mesh looks awesome because punch holes in the mesh increase in size from center to edge ,also the holes are not exactly adjacent to each other, this gives the speaker a very interesting flower kind off look. Refer to pictures to see what I'm talking about. Sound Quality - This isn't my first small speaker, I've tried another 3 watt speaker from a brand named WeCool and that speaker had abominable sound quality, lot of distortion and clipping of volume. I'm glad to say that this speaker is in a whole other league compared to that, mostly because xiaomi has applied it's technological prowess into these speakers. Generally, size of speaker is directly propotional to it's performance, so if a speaker is small in size you need to use other tools like digital signal processing to make sure the small speaker doesn't get overwhelmed by all the frequencies it needs to reproduce. In this case, Xiaomi has focused on tonal accuracy and low distortion even at maximum volume, in short they have made sure that vocals, acoustic instruments and drum beats sound the best regardless of genre of music being played. Bass is appropriate for its size, please keep in mind that this speaker is really small in size and don't expect too much in the bass department, moving on, the said processing makes this speaker sound excellent and handle all kind of music effortlessly. So for sound quality (keeping its size and price in mind) I would say that its really good. I'll update my review on battery life and range after I've tested them for a week, for now, I would surely recommend them. Update - battery life is average (5-6 hours) when played at 70% volume, it's bad when played at full volume(1-2 hours), if you are buying this speaker for personal listening then you'll be fine. Another update - My quest of finding a small but awesome Bluetooth speaker has finally ended. My recommendation is to go for mifa i8 speaker, i bought it from AliExpress for 849 and it was delivered within a week, the mifa speaker is in a different league completely when compared to this one, so if you really want a small yet awesome Bluetooth speaker then go for the mifa.

Mi Compact Bluetooth Speaker 2 is a good product compared to the price. Sound is very clear and bass is there. It has a very compact design and looks cool if you sling it to your backpack. I have used multiple products of MI - router, air purifier, phone etc and went for it with confidence. Single word, 200% satisfied. Using with my Galaxy Note 9. Primary usage planned was to use for long calls which last for few hours at a stretch. Now its primary or rather extensive usage has been for music and calls. Excellent battery life. Used it for 4 hours plus and battery at 30%. pros 1) Super compact 2) excellent audio quality 3) Very good battery life 4) seamless bluetooth connectivity 5) Very very handy 6) sturdy grip on base keeps it static even on uneven/slippery surfaces like car dashboard cons 1) Only white colour available which is prone to get dirty with extensive usage 2) A little higher side on bass which looked ok for songs Last but not least, going to order 2 more. My dad asked for one. One potential usage is for calls by elders who have trouble using feature phones. My grandfather is 85 plus and always has trouble with any sort of feature phone. Tried this one for him and he was comfortable using it for calls. May be it might turn up as my 3rd one
