## Description

The Gladius Vesparum is beautifully handcrafted Roman gladius style swords. Unlike most other gladius this sword features a "wasp style blade" which transitions from the pointed tip to a wide flare than becoming more narrow before entering the hilt. This design creates a wide entry point when thrusting but also minimizes the weight of the blade. Blade is constructed of durable EN45 carbon spring steel and is provided with a sharpened edge. This magnificent sword comes with a beautifully carved wooden grip. Each segment of the grip is carved deep for a secure hold, and separated with polished brass spacers for that classy "I have style” sort of look. The grip is constructed from Indian hardwood which is light yet structurally durable. The sword features a full-tang for superior strength, and a customary brass shock plate has been mounted at the base of the guard. The scabbard from this sword is also hardwood, wrapped in a russet leather with brass accents at the throat and tip. Two brass belt rings are affixed to the throat. This is the same style of sword that the Romans would have carried in the time of Christ ! The verses in God's word referring to swords , the writers would have been picturing one of these most likely! So awesome , so well made , worth every penny. They also included a cleaning kit with a microfiber cloth , instructions, and some packets of flitz polish ! Money well spent . If you're thinking of getting one for yourself , don't wait , you don't get this kind of craftsmanship in anything these days !

The engravement came out really cool but I'm probably going to add a little paint to give the names color. The silver on silver is a little hard to read but man this is awesome.

**Q: Any recommendations to sharpen the gladius that doesn't include a grinder?**
A: A belt sander works well.  If you have not ordered already if you send us an email after the purchase we can sharpen for you.

**Q: Would you have the blade sharpened before you send the product?**
A: All swords are sent with sharpened blades unless otherwise requested.

**Q: I don't want it engraved why is it forcing me to select that - I cannot add it to the cart?**
A: The item is set up that way.  Please just enter "DO NOT ENGRAVE" and we won't engrave.

**Q: How custom can i order this? Like say can i change the wood, metal on the handle, and a glass breaker**
A: We only offer customized engraving.  That is you can customize the text that is engraved.   We do not customize the actual sword.

This might be the coolest thing I've ever purchased on Amazon. It is beautifully crafted and well worth the money. I was amazed at the quality of the final product. The custom engraving is excellent. Online pictures do not do this justice. I purchased a similar product from another company for $80 and returned it because it so cheaply made. This product costs a little more but it was worth every penny. It completely exceeded my expectations, and I will be displaying this for years to come! Well done!!
