Can I use this so my laptop would be more or less above me?** A: The Laptop Laidback cannot place the screen directly towards the ceiling above your head. It seems like you're not using any pillow(s) for head / shoulder support. As such, you'd be looking straight up and our "Laidback" product won't place your laptop as you'd need. If however, you can place a pillow or two under your shoulders and head, then it is a perfect solution. Please see the the "product-in-use" photos on our Amazon product page. The male and female models are using the product exactly as it is intended to be. **Q: Has anyone discovered an add on mouse pad solution for this product?** A: I use a stiff, metal, gaming mousepad when working in bed. I like the Penguin mouse. **Q: Im going to have to spend several months lying down, flat on my back, can I use this when lying down?** A: I am a reporter who had spinal fusion. Following surgery I was on my back or standing up fir about 4 months- those were my only positions! This device enabled me to continue working. I would suggest getting a variety (and I mean that literally) of pillows of varying thicknesses to prop up your arms and neck so that you can maintain a stable position. This device enabled me to use my MacBook Pro with no issues. It had a lot of versatility in terms of settings, so with time you’ll find a position that fits your body comfortably. I recommend this product for anyone who needs to keep using a laptop while laying down. **Q: Ive had my my laidback awhile and the adhesive no longer sticks! Can I re-order new velcro or should just buy a roll of velcro? thanks!** A: We can supply Velcro at minimal cost. Typically, we place the required pieces in an envelope and send via the postal system. The Velcro and it's mailing will be about $4.00 US and payment can be rendered by PayPal. Does that work for you ? If so, please send Payment via PayPal to ( doug@laptop-laidback.com ). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best table for using the computer while lying down *by L***N on May 12, 2010* I love this table! I use it to watch Netflix 'Watch Instantly' streaming movies and Hulu TV shows on my laptop while lying down in bed. Also, when I web surf in bed, I don't have to sit up since the velcro allows the keyboard to be angled toward me so it is almost vertical. The use of Velcro is simple but brilliant (why didn't I think of that?) and it gave me the idea to also put Velcro strips on my favorite Levo Book Holder stand so I can also put my computer on that. In another Amazon review, someone said they didn't like using Velcro, but I don't understand the issue since you put the smooth velcro strips on the bottom of your computer (not the corresponding rough ones) and they are very thin. I put on more velcro than they sent me with the table (which I got at a drug store) since I wanted really long velcro strips so I wouldn't have to look closely to align little pieces. It takes one second to stick my laptop onto this table when I'm ready to use to watch streaming TV/movies in bed. This table would also be great for anyone who is ill in the hospital or recovering at home in bed.The table came with four screw bolts but one was the wrong size. I called the support number and the company immediately sent me several extra bolts. I think the support phone was answered by the table's designer and he was quite helpful and friendly, and he apologized for the packing error. The table is very light and has a handle making it easy to carry from room to room. The disadvantage is that it does not fold flat unless you loosen the bolts and so if you do not want to have to adjust bolts all the time, you should have a place to store it fully assembled. It is ideal for using at home but is too big to fit in your laptop bag.I would say the main advantages this has over other bed tables is that it allows you to use the computer while lying totally flat (you don't even have to prop yourself up with a pillow), and it is much more adjustable in height and angle. It would work fine for most body sizes of adults and children, but perhaps not for someone who is extra wide. This table works better for use (with trackpad instead of mouse) in bed than when sitting in recliners unless your recliner is very wide. When doing serious computer work sitting up in my recliner, I prefer to use a mouse and like to use my "Peck's adjustable laptop desk laptop tray in Birch" table (also bought via Amazon). For me, it is definitely worth the money to have these tables optimized for lying down in bed and working in recliners at the proper angles to avoid back or neck strain. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not perfect, but best on the market *by J***H on March 13, 2011* The reason I purchased this product is my back goes out a couple of times a year. Each time, I'm flat on my back until whatever muscle heals. That usually means three or four weeks. No doubt healing time would be quicker if I'd stayed in a horizontal position. The minute I feel slightly better, I'm up, sitting at the computer which isn't good for the healing process. The best part about the Laidback Laptop Desk is you can lay flat on your back with a pillow underneath your head and see the laptop screen, including the keyboard. The plastic parts--legs--is sturdy. The way the screws are designed, I'm not worried about the desk collapsing. The design isn't perfect though. Velcro is needed to keep the laptop in position. If not, the laptop will fall off when positioned at a certain angle. Also, there wasn't enough Velcro included and I had to purchase more. Another problem is I have tiny legs on the bottom of my laptop, which prevents the Velcro from getting a secure grip. The design would have been better with clamps, not Velcro.Another complaint is the instructions weren't clear. There were pictures only. Putting the desk together isn't rocket science, but I paid $89. I expected more for the price. The desk is portable, but isn't easily folded. You have to unscrew the legs, which isn't a big deal. Putting the desk back together takes time, because of adjusting the legs to get the position you want. I don't bother. I simply store the whole thing in the closet. That way, it will be ready for the next time.All-in-all, I am pleased with the results. This last time, my back healed in half the time because I stayed in bed. And the reason is I had the Laidback Laptop Desk. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Better to just put your laptop on your lap! *by N***N on January 11, 2019* I can see how this might work nicely for some people, but it didn't really work for my purposes. I wanted to use it to work on my computer in bed while recovering from a broken ankle. It was a hassle to get it set up, and once it was set up, I realized that it makes me feel hemmed in and is hard to adjust the position (angle, height, etc.) while in use -- you basically have to pick one position and stick to it. You can adjust the position -- but it takes a while and disrupts work flow. Much easier for me is to just support my computer on my thigh or on a pillow against my thigh. That way I can adjust the position of myself and the computer over time for my comfort much more easily. The Laptop Laidback also just makes for one more item to keep track of around my bed, and space for such items is at a premium for me since it's hard for me to move large items around, so I want to keep everything within reach.I would recommend this for somebody who is extremely immobile to the point that they cannot or do not wish to move their legs or torso for an extended period of time. Otherwise, I would not recommend it. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/81468890-the-only-laptop-bed-table-designed-for-the-reclined](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/81468890-the-only-laptop-bed-table-designed-for-the-reclined) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
