Say you want to reformat your hard drive and you have an Itunes library full of music. Yes, you could back it up and then try one of many confusing, buggy softwares that are on the market that are supposed to put your music back into a new, empty Itunes library. Why bother? Plug this device into your Ipod, the other end into any computer that has Itunes software loaded on it and you can download your Ipod's entire music, video, pics, etc., to your new, empty Itunes library. VOILA! Couldn't be easier.
