So we got this twin-pack floor attachment for both of those vacuums, which use the same factory-made side hole. I believe that second hole on top of the collar was drilled after factory production to allow attachment accommodation with other Kenmore models with the hole needing to be at the top instead of the side. This explains why some reviewers say they have a hard time pressing the release button on those models. This is because the floor attachment guard collar hole region was not ground down/beveled a bit for easy button access, like the side hole was. It's not a deal-breaker for me. Nearly identical because they are the same plastic piece, BUT, these have horsehair brushes instead of the acrylic ones that sold w/Kenmore vacs, so these are actually mush better. With the help of adapter pieces, often found w/wet/dry vac accessories in home improvement stores, you adapt them to wands they don't fit. Why bother? Because this brush is so low profile w/a short swivel angle that it goes everywhere you need it to. Its width & depth are helpful sizes too. The placement of the brushes is just right to catch hair, etc. without blocking suction or pushing particles away.
