Our little guy is in 3rd grade so he doesn't need a huge or heavy duty backpack but this serves its purpose. It's a good size for his age group. The quality is good and there is no sign of wear or unraveling at the seams. I like that there is a pocket just for the hood so it's out of sight unless he wants to use it. I like too that it's different from the norm. They love it. Hoodie fits inside of the pocket at the top of the backpack. However, the pocket (stuffed with the hoodie) takes up us space inside of the backpack. Not a problem for my 8 y/o but it bothers my 10 y/o (pushes up against his back) so he just leave the hoodie out at all times.
