## Description

Skyris combines the unmatched expertise of The Imaging Source, with Celestron’s innovative industrial design. Whether you're an advanced user or a beginner, you'll love creating beautiful astroimages with these easy-to-use cameras. Capture the Sun, Moon, and planets like never before and create crisp, high-resolution images. Skyris is capable of super-fast image download and Skyris’ CMOS sensor is capable of capturing up to 200 frames per second when subframed on planets. Or image the full 1.2 megapixel 1/3-inch sensor at 60 frames per second, great for lunar and solar imaging. CMOS technology is emerging as the hottest thing in imaging, and Aptina’s AR0132 sensor leads the way. This updated version of the popular MT9M034 sensor offers the perfect combination of speed, sensitivity, and value. Skyris 132C is a one-shot color camera, allowing you to capture full-color images instantly. There's no need to image the same target multiple times to capture different colors. You also won't need to invest in filters and a filter wheel. Skyris also features a Celestron-designed camera body, which helps dissipate heat to minimize the effect of thermal noise on the CCD. Skyris cameras do not have an optical window, which makes cleaning your camera easier and ensures maximum light transmission with no risk of internal reflections. All Skyris cameras include Celestron iCap capture software and stacking software (for Windows systems only). This software suite allows you to easily control the camera, capture, and export your images or movie files. With a 1.25" nosepiece and 10' USB 3.0 cable included, Skyris has everything you need to get started with lunar, solar, or planetary imaging. Skyris cameras also make excellent auto guiders. If used with a Celestron mount, Skyris connects as a DirectShow device or WDM-style webcam. Skyris works with popular software like Maxim DL or freeware like PHD Guiding.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this camera use a c mount?**
A: No, it just fits into a standard 1 1/4” eyepiece holder. Nothing else you need to buy.

**Q: I have a celestron cpc 1100 and am looking for a good introductory camera to image solar system objects--would this camera be good choice for someone**
A: These cameras are fairly fool proof. The 20 page booklet covers how to take a basic picture with the camera. Definitely start with a large, bright object like a planet before you attempt anything else. Also, don't expect Hubble. I have taken some decent pictures of Saturn and Jupiter. I haven't had the same success with smaller or darker objects.

**Q: what do i do if the pictures have spots in the camera lens...how do i get rid of them?**
A: The most common source of spots on your images is dust or dirt on the sensor. Sensors must be handled very carefully to prevent dust from falling on them or being scratched or damaged while trying to clean them. The only method I recommend is to try blowing the sensor clean with a rubber squeeze bulb. Adult ear wax removal kits or baby enema kits usually have the type of squeeze bulbs I am referring to. Of course, these can also be purchased from camera supply shops. Hold the camera with the sensor pointing down, and gently blow the sensor off several times with the squeeze bulb. If this does not remove the dust or dirt, I recommend taking the camera to a camera shop to have it professionally cleaned. Under no circumstances should you attempt to blow it clean with compressed air (canned air or compressor) or attempt any wet cleaning of the sensor. These methods are pretty much guaranteed to make matters worse. To avoid dirt getting on your sensor in the future, be sure to always store it with the dust cap in place. It's always a good idea to use the optional IR cut filter that is available for this camera. The filter will protect the sensor, and it is much cheaper to replace if it gets scratched or irretrievable dirty. Good luck.

**Q: Is this camera backwards compatable to a USB2 at a slower data rate?**
A: I think I only have USB2 and it is fine. I saw some reviews mentioned slow data transfer (though not necessarily related to the USB version) but mine seems OK. Perhaps best to check with the manufacturer to be safe as it's not a cheap thing to buy (gives great results but fiddly to get the best out of it).

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Four Stars
*by J***. on May 14, 2016*

I took some very nice pictures of Jupiter and Saturn Just need some more time with it as far as exposure and centering object. Can not wait for clear skies, it has been cloudy for some time lately. Enjoy and get yourself one

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice photos and videos of Moon, planets, stars
*by S***I on October 31, 2021*

The media could not be loaded. I've enjoyed using Skyris to take nice photos and videos of the Moon, planets and stars. Attached is a video I made of Mizar and Alcor, and also Jupiter and Saturn. The telescope is a five-inch refractor by Celestron (Omni XLT). Skyris comes with image stacking software you can use to make a single photo image out of many images in a video, which I have used to good effect, shown in the second sample image, of Mars; not bad for a five-inch refractor.
