Took it out last weekend for 3 days of camping. Loaded with over 300 lbs of gear, 5 HP motor and my 80 pound lab. Boat was extremely stable and much easier to paddle than I expected.Very satisfied with this purchase!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Most Versatile Water Freighter You'll Ever Own *by P***N on Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2021* I lived along the Yukon River where some in the closest village, Eagle, Alaska, owned large, fast, high-horsepower river boats. But none of us who were living along the river out of town could afford these gas-guzzling beasties. Instead we came to depend on the Grumman 19' canoe, which could make the 76-mile upriver trip against the 6-10mph current, from the mouth of the Kandik River to Eagle with a medium load (600#) in under 8 hours, pushed by a 6-horse 2-cycle outboard and using about 10 gallons of fuel. A few years later I made the same trip with a 15-horse motor in 5 hours, but used 16 gallons of fuel. (The rating on the canoe is 5hp). The left-hand picture is at a party on the river with virtually everyone there running a 19' Grumman. The right picture is my and my wife heading up to Eagle after breaking fish camp. Besides what you can see in the canoe is 12 cases of quart Ball jars of canned salmon, a 160# bear (she was stealing drying fish off our rack, 20' from our camp), all our camping and cooking gear, a full kitchen, and 3 other sled dogs. (The load rating for the canoe is 1,100#.) And the canoe tracks beautifully for upriver travel when a motor isn't available or working. The second picture was taken shortly before midnight. So if you want a cold, noisy, aesthetically unpleasing barge, that is near-indestructible, capable of almost anything you can ask of her, carries an amazing load, efficient, maintenance-free, and liable to exceed all your expectations, buy this boat! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best and toughest canoe ever made *by F***D on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2015* This 19' canoe is the standard canoe for motorized travel in the BWCA. Go up through Pipestone and also fish Jackfish Bay. Take along the oar set and row into the islands beyond the non motorized area and catch trophy walleye.
