I opened it as soon as it arrived and sure enough 2 stalks had already begun to sprout - about 3" long. Unfortunately the box it came in left it no place to grow but curl around the bulb. (This is NOT a kit - you will need your own pot and soil). I transplanted the bulb immediately and put it under a grow-light to try to force the stalks upright. Only one responded. When I went in further to see why I say that the second stalk was severed from the bulb. It wasn't going to grow at all. It's a shame Because the one stalk that is intact has at least 5 blooms on it. It's gorgeous, the colors so vivid. It would have been great with 10 flowers on the whole plant. Review: no blooms on very overpriced bulbs - I ordered 5 these bulbs at +- 29.00 each. Not ONE of them bloomed. they were rotten (3 of them) when they arrived and hoping they might survive I treated them with great care and according to directions. Later that week I bought 5 bulbs at Trader Joes for 7.99 each. They all bloomed beautifully. What a rip-off.
