He said the cards are a bright white, and he could make out the shapes of the suits. He could count some of the numbers with his fingers but not figure out the dots for the suits because they all ran together. He hasn’t picked his fingers for two years now , but having done do for over forty years, his fingers are quite smooth and he couldn’t distinguish between the small dots. He loves playing cribbage. The cards help him maintain some independence, but those who play cribbage with him still shuffle, count and peg for him. He said they were easy to hold because they are larger and plastic.
