Pretty good holding power. **Q: How large is the opening of the jaws of the clamp?** A: The clamps are quite secure. Jaws open a good 1/4+ inch. I covered my boat for the winter here in Alaska and used the clamps to secure the ends. They also work well if your tarp grommets don't line up where you need to anchor. Hope this helps **Q: Does the tarp clip unscrew so you can put the screw through the grommet?** A: No it has grooved teeth that clamp onto the tarp itself. I bought several different kinds and this design was far better than the others as you decide how much pressure to clamp it on by the screw. **Q: Is there any metal in the product that might rust?** A: No metal. Very tough/durable plastic. ## Frequently Bought Together - 12 Pack - Tarp Clips Heavy Duty Lock Grip - Strong Clips - Superior Holding Power - Alligator Locking Clamp Design - Multipurpose, Tarp Tie Downs, Canvas, Shade Cloth, Tent, Banner, Awnings (12 Pack) - Kotap BB-6B Ball Bungee Cord, Heavy-Duty & Versatile, Indoor & Outdoor, Tarp Tie-Down, Organize & Secure, 6-Inch, Black, 25 Pack - Mtsooning 32mm Greenhouse Frame Pipe Tube, 10 Pcs Plastic Garden Buildings Tube Clip, Black ABS Snap Clamp Tube Film Clip Connector for Sunshade Nets Frame Shelters Season Plant Supplies --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/83855546-12-pack-tarp-clips-heavy-duty-lock-grip-strong-clips](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/83855546-12-pack-tarp-clips-heavy-duty-lock-grip-strong-clips) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
