Had expensive orthoses but a waste of money. I buy gel or soft sole inserts then stick a small strip of felt so that it reaches between these two fleshy balls of foot. This lessens the down pressure on these two points. Every week I also cut hard tissue from these areas and file. The felt does stick to your socks sometimes or flattens too much. I just replace. Best and most satisfactory resolution to a problem which, if not treated in this way, makes walking almost impossible because of the pain. Just walked 18 miles in three days with visiting friends and dog and still could have walked more. But then there were pubs and gin o'clock.... Note: you may have to experiment a bit to get right length and position of felt. Don't give up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Podiatry felt does help with pain relief *by M***E on 17 September 2024* My first purchase of podiatry felt was for Hapla and when I needed more I chose this one not realisng it wasn't Hapla.Pros and Cons: This felt is cheaper than the Hapla but when I first cut out my template I had the devil of a job getting the backing off because this felt is sooo sticky! The pro here is that you can remove it before showering and it will reattach next day and a few days more. Once the Hapla ir removed it won't restick.Tip for removing the backing: cut out the template in the usual way, then using a stanley knife or scalpel gently score down the centre of the cut-out (you want to cut through the plastic only) and then the backing is easily peeled away.
