We have 3 sidewalk carts in San Francisco, where we serve fresh hot cups of chai creating a slice of Indian culture on the streets of San Francisco. Brewing Suggestions: Steep 1 tsp of Spice Blend with any tea of your choice (black, green or rooibos). Optional: Add milk and sugar to taste. Make Masala chai the traditional Indian way: Heat 8 oz water in a pot. Add 1 tsp of Spice Blend and sugar to taste. As the water comes to a boil, add black tea (Assam tea recommended) and steep tea for 2 min. Add 3 oz milk (whole, 2% or soy) and bring to a boil again. Turn off heat, cover for a min (optional, makes chai extra strong) and strain the chai into a cup. ## Features - A magical blend of freshly gound whole spices - cardamom, ginger, cloves, fennel, pepper, cinnamon. I added more cinnamon and cloves (for no other reason than personal preference), but even without those additions, it smells divine. When I opened the container and sniffed, I closed my eyes and envisioned Christmas morning and gingerbread houses...and (even though I've never been there), India and the tropics...*SIGH*I'm more than satisfied with this purchase; even if I'm not successful in extracting my own essential oil, I would still buy it again. When you open the container you can actually see the whole spices which appear high quality and fragrant with a hint of peppery sweetness that I assume comes from the cardamom and ginger/cinnamon. On cold evenings that I want to completely relax and keep warm, I brew the blend without tea.
