## Features

- Cobalt Steel - Manufactured from M35 grade cobalt steel, with molybdenum and cobalt added to creates a hardened alloy, measuring Rockwell hardness up to 67, for much faster cutting and extra longer life span, with up to twelve times when compared with an average HSS drill bit.
- Superior Heat Resistance - Withstand high temperatures during prolonged drilling, ensuring consistent performance. Particularly successful in cutting through hard metals such as stainless steel and cast iron, although they can be used for softer materials, too.
- 19PC Set - The set includes 19pcs of M35 cobalt steel twist drill bits: 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7 mm, 7.5mm, 8 mm, 8.5mm, 9 mm, 9.5mm, 10 mm. Well organized in a tough metal indexed storage case for easy transport to your worksite.
- Metalworking - Particularly successful in cutting through hard metals(hardness less than HRC38°) such as stainless steel and cast iron, although they can be used for softer materials like copper and aluminium, too.
- Precision Cutting - The 135° quick-cut split points are self-centered and will penetrate quickly with less pressure. No center punch is needed. Will not "walk" or "wander".
- Professional Quality: Built to meet the demands of heavy-duty use, perfect for contractors, machinists, and serious hobbyists.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how long are those?**
A: Thanks for your question. We just measured all the bits.
Length of Dia. 6.5mm drill bit: 100mm
Length of Dia. 6mm drill bit: 92mm
Length of Dia. 5.5mm drill bit: 93mm
Length of Dia. 5mm drill bit: 86mm
Length of Dia. 4.8mm drill bit: 86mm
Length of Dia. 4.5mm drill bit: 79mm
Length of Dia. 4mm drill bit: 74mm
Length of Dia. 3.5mm drill bit: 69mm
Length of Dia. 3.2mm drill bit: 65mm
Length of Dia. 3mm drill bit: 62mm
Length of Dia. 2.5mm drill bit: 55mm
Length of Dia. 2mm drill bit: 48mm
Length of Dia. 1.5mm drill bit: 39mm

**Q: I need to cut through 3/16" heat treated high carbon steel. Think these can handle it?**
A: Carbide bits are suitable for heat treated high carbon steel and hardened steel.

**Q: Can these drill through cheddar or provolone without breaking?**
A: Keep the speed very low or you risk burning the medium. You can go as low as 1RMM or even less. Or just chuck up a pit and poke at 0RPM. It works surprisingly well! If you wish to minimize the likelihood of burning, use a full-fat cheese for extra lubrication. Avoid drilling Swiss cheese if possible. The Swiss have used a clever proprietary blind hole drilling process during the manufacturing of their cheese and those pre-drilled holes definitely cause the bit to wander off course if the cheese is subsequently drilled outside of the factory setting. I learned that the hard way. Getting back to your original question, if you drill perpendicular to the face and slowly, you should be ok. I haven't tried it any other way tho, to be honest. By the nature of your question, I presume you are in Wisconsin. Go Packers!

**Q: Why do drill bits sometimes break when drilling?**
A: 1. Poor quality of bit.
2. Too much pressure on the drill and it either heats up and snaps or the point grabs and the bit twists and breaks.
3. Not going straight through and pushing sidewise on the bit.
If you believe that you operate properly but the the bits break, please contact us for a few replacement.
You can always buy with confidence from Migiwata.

    Hymnorq METRIC drill bits

*by K***0 on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2021*

Here in the USA, Metric drill bits are extremely scarce as most of the country insists upon using an outdated Imperial system of drill bit sizes varying from fractions of an inch (21/64" anybody?) to an inverse numbering system (with a #2 being bigger than a #6)Refreshingly, the entirely decimal Metric system comes to the rescue! This Metric drill bit set is sized from 1.0mm to 10.0mm in 0.5mm increments. a most useful selection. The bits themselves are sharp and drill clean holes but the metal case, or drill index is not especially great. For sharpness, in a recent project I drilled 16 x 5mm holes and 10 x 3mm holes through 6mm thick aluminum. The last holes drilled as quickly and cleanly as the first, so they are at least decently sharp and durable.By the way, for those that absolutely can not get their head around millimeters, the smallest 1.0mm drill bit is this set is close to 3/64" and the largest 10mm drill is close to 25/64", or a bit bigger than 3/8"

    Excellent set of METRIC bits!

*by J***W on Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2018*

At the time I purchased these, I only intended to use them for light duty (drilling into polymer). However, as fate would have it, I had to use them to drill into hardened steel, and much to my surprise, they performed admirably. It was a pleasant surprise (I was expecting "Chinese junk") and I'm very happy with this purchase; especially considering that it's a METRIC set, which is difficult to find (in the USA). I wish the set had a 1mm bit, but oh well. It's just a preference, not anything against the quality of the bits in this set.=============Update 1/16/18=============My rating has changed from 5 stars down to 3. I needed to drill into metal again--actually I wasn't even drilling new holes, but just "chasing" already existing holes to expand them--and neither the 4.5mm or 4.8mm bits would do anything. They just spun around getting hot, without cutting anything. I even tried the 5mm bit, even though that was too big for my purposes, and it also did nothing but spin. Thus, I've used four of the bits (4, 4.5, 4.8, and 5mm), and only one of them did anything. The one that actually worked did its job well; the others are a HUGE disappointment.=============Update 1/25/18=============Kudos to Migiwata customer service (thank you, Bella!). After hearing about my not-so-pleasant experience with these bits, they sent me a second set. Apparently their original supplier had run dry, and they had to use a second, temporary supplier while the original caught up with demand. The first set that I received was from the temporary supplier. The new set is from the original supplier, and the bits seem to be in order in this new set. So how do you tell the difference? By the case (see photos). The set with the blue dot on the case--which is a plastic retainer to keep the case closed--is from the original supplier. Now if you happen to get a set without the blue dot, don't panic. Just because I got a subpar set that slipped through the manufacturer's quality control process doesn't mean that you did, too. Try the bits out first. WORST case is that Migiwata customer service takes care of you like they did me; best case is you don't even have a problem. As for me and my review of this product, I'm a happy camper again and am bumping my rating back up to 5 stars. The bits are great (make sure to use a good cutting lubricant/coolant) and Migiwata customer service is stellar.
