Featuring a Technora aramid sheath over a durable nylon core and reinforced with custom bar-tack stitching, it offers exceptional strength (11.3 kN end-to-end, 22.6 kN basket) and versatility for ascending, self-belay, rappelling, and haul systems. Made in the USA, this tan-colored prusik cord supports multiple knot styles, making it a must-have for serious climbers seeking reliability and durability. ## Description BlueWater Ropes 7mm VT Prusik was designed to be used on smaller diameter ropes. This specialty design features super tough, heat resistant Technora aramid sheath over durable nylon core strands. The core in this kernmantle design keeps the VT from flattening and binding up. A computerized large gauge sewing machine is used to bar tack a devilishly strong stitch with our custom thread. This thread/stitch combination yields superior strength and overall durability. Manufactured in the U.S. from Domestic and Globally sourced raw materials. The VT Prusik is a very versatile open-end Pruisk. Used to tie: Symmetric Prusik, Asymmetric Prusik (Schwabisch/Distal), Valdotain Tresse, French Prusik The VT performs well when used for ascending, self-belay while rappelling, as a traveling rope grab or in conjunction with a prusik minding pulley in haul systems. The VT performs well when used for ascending, self-belay while rappelling, as a traveling rope grab or in conjunction with a Prusik minding pulley in haul systems. The VT is a versatile open-end prusik that can be used to tie: Symmetric Prusik Asymmetric Prusik (Schwabisch/Distal) Valdotain Tresse French Prusik more For personal use on ropes 8 mm to 9.5 mm Overall Length: 32″ (81cm) MBS End to End: 11.3 kN (2,500 lbf) MBS Basket: 22.6 kN (5,000 lbf) Color: Tan Review: Quality item - Works perfectly on my 10mm ropes. Review: Excellent friction hitch that is releasable under load - The VT prusik is different from a standard prusik cord in that it can be loaded and still slid easily. For rescue work or tree work it is a must have. I would even recommend this as a back up above your device for rappelling with a heavy load. The stitching is done right, and it seems very well built. 10-1 safety rating with MBS of 2500 lbs SWL 250 lbs. Don’t cheap out on life safety equipment (yes you can find other brands from questionable suppliers cheaper), buy quality and don’t question if it will be good enough. This is truly the right tool for the job. ## Features - BlueWater Ropes 7mm VT Prusik was designed to be used on smaller diameter ropes. This rope is nice and soft, Very easy to tie prusik hitches with. Its about the perfect length for a knut hitch above my ascender. Great rope for a secondary safety lock in case my mechanical ascender fails for some reason. ## Frequently Bought Together - BLUEWATER ROPES 7mm Brown VT Prusik (7568606) - Sterling Rope 6.8mm Hollow Block Loop - Petzl Sm'D Carabiner - Versatile, Lightweight, Compact, D-Shaped Locking Carabiner for Rock and Ice Climbing --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.pt/products/84430172-bluewater-ropes-7mm-brown-vt-prusik-7568606](https://www.desertcart.pt/products/84430172-bluewater-ropes-7mm-brown-vt-prusik-7568606) --- *Product available on Desertcart Portugal* *Store origin: PT* *Last updated: 2026-10-13*
