Barium Carbonate BaCO3 CAS 513-77-9 Molecular weight 197.4 White powder. Soluble in acids; insoluble in water. Specific Gravity 4.26. Highly toxic by ingestion. Do not inhale or ingest. Used as a white filling pigment in paints. Used in ceramic putties and glazes, to purify raw clay, and as a precursor to other barium compounds. Produces a green flame in fireworks. Shipped in a bottle suitable for storage on a laboratory shelf, not baggies.
