I used Carmex back in the late 80’s, regular brand chapstick for 25 years, and then switched to Burt’s around 2014. I started with this line here that is based on beeswax, vitamin E, and peppermint and I never looked back. My only mistake was that I thought all of there their lip balms were based on the same major ingredients with some flavors and I found that their moisturizing lip balms are more sunflower seed oil based than they are beeswax and instead of penetrating my lips for the relief I’m looking for I find that it feels like someone just took a mechanics grease gun and shellacked my lips with flavored oil slick. Soon after the slick has gone I have to lube up again and if you really have chapped lips it sucks. So now I just make sure to keep an eye on my stash of my Burts beeswax lip balms and make sure I’m not getting low because buying them in bulk pays off in the end. (I am severely allergic)** A: I use the Ultra Conditioning burt's bees flavor because peppermint oil irritates my lips as well.
