The Thermofocus non-contact thermometer allows temperatures to be taken without touching the patient’s skin, simply by moving the thermometer close to the forehead at the distance indicated by the thermometer (approximately 1”). When the temperature button is held, two aiming lights will appear from the head of the thermometer. It's a great idea and when it works, fantastic. Problem is that it doesn't work even half of the time so we are constantly using both this and our WelchAllyn SureTemp Plus to compare readings. And we usually end up with having to ignore the Thermafocus altogether. Attempts to calibrate it failed.
