Stripping along the length of the cable works fine but when you want to strip the jacket you have to thread the cable through a hole. I guess that's fine for 1/0 terminations of 1"-2" but for controls cabling or lighting its anywhere for 2-6' depending on the customer guidelines, so it's tedious to thread it through then back out. I'll post pics later, I cut the front of the cable stripper guide hole so I could just slide the cables in and out of the tool. It it had came this way I would have given 5 stars, because now its a 5 star tool. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Super Product! *by R***. on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2012* If you ever strip 3-conductor Romex, you need this tool! Just adjust the blade (per instructions) for the jacket thickness, and go. No more knife work. I have also used it on multi-conductor direct-burial sprinkler cable, and it's fabulous for that too. I think it would be fine for Cat-5 also. My original Cat-5/Coax stripper no longer works because the cable jackets have gotten thinner. WIth this tool, you can adjust for that. ### ⭐⭐ Sadly dissappointed! *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2011* This device seemed like the perfect thing to strip insulation off of some wire that I had. It was hard to get it to stay on the center of the wire and the plastic piece at the bottom kept popping off. The tiny blade wears out quickly even if you set it were it doesn't touch the copper at all and at $5 a blade not worth it.
