Review: Well Crafted Tool, Wands, Gun & Bottles - Live in the rust belt. Undercoating is a must. Did 2 cars so far including the purchase of the kit which cost less than taking it to have this half done by a 16 year old at a shop. I didn't have Woolwax, had Fluid Film. Worked great. The 3 bottles are going to be very handy. It was a cool day so I filled a bottle with my Fluid Film, put it in the microwave for a few minutes which was fairly smelly but worth it, making the Fluid Film a little more fluid. Hooked it up to my compressor at about 90psi and went to work. The included wands were handy for getting inside the frame rails and hard to reach parts of bumper area and behind plastic shrouds. Didn't spray well at all under 90psi. Cleaned up with hot soapy water, ready for next year.
Review: Live where roads get salted ? Buy this, here's why. - I used to use spray cans of bar and chain oil, with 24" straws. They work for getting in the frame and hidden areas, but this gun is a much better way. It works faster and saves you money because you can use bulk oil, Fluid Film or chain&bar oil which are much cheaper. This gun gives a nice thin coating that's just enough to coat and protect, or thicker if you want. And when you're under there it's not dripping all over the place. Here's a recipe: Get a gallon pail of fluid film then mix approx 50/50 in a jug with chainsaw bar & chain oil which is really sticky/tacky. Then mix in some used motor oil, bearing grease and Lucas oil stabilizer. Some people dissolve paraffin+kerosene into a cream and add that too. Im running the gun at 75 psi. The gun comes with a few empty bottles. The way this thing sprays, about 1 bottle will do half of a truck. The hoses are very good for pushing up into frame rails and over top of shock perches, etc . The hoses are not extremely flexible, which is a benefit when pushing them up into the frame. Only thing is, they wont turn anything other than a very gradual curve...sometimes that doesn't work if the frame hole is small and you can't make the turn thru that hole. I wish they provided another hose that is thinner, like 1/4" O.D. so that you could get in smaller holes or smaller places. For these few problem spots I revert back to spray cans and LONG straws. An excellent thing to buy along with this gun is the ShopStraw FS250 . You can cut this straw into a 2 ft section and put it on spray cans of Fluid Film or Johnsens bar and chain oil JON4602 case or 4723 can , or any cheap spray chain/bar oil . You can see all this in my pic . Yeah this gun is a hundred bucks but If you think long run, your frame rusting out usually results in junking the vehicle or spending alot of money and time. A hundred bucks is nothing to prevent your frame and body from rusting out. If you're on the fence, let me save you the time. Just spend the damn money, get this gun. Get a jug of cheap Bar&Chain oil, Fluid Film and used oil. Some nice jack stands also make the job easier. I use Big Red jack stands, they are reasonably priced and are DOUBLE LOCKING. Now go and protect your baby from road salt and rust.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this spray gun a pressurized pot system?**
A: The Woolwax® applicator spray gun connects to a compressor. Woolwax® undercoating guns do not require much pressure. 70 – 90 psi is usually adequate. Sometimes the extension wands require a bit more pressure if it is cold out. Even small compressors generally operate at about 125 psi. More important is the tank size. If the tank is very small, you will be constantly waiting for the compressor to recover. Generally speaking, any compressor with a tank 3 gallons and larger will work fine. If the compressor is adequate for spray painting, it will work fine for vehicle undercoating.

**Q: Are the extra bottles made out of metal or plastic?**
A: The bottles are all made from plastic (Made in USA).

**Q: Is it possible to fluid film f150 while it's on the ground using this sprayer or is it too difficult?**
A: It is absolutely possible to undercoat the vehicle while on the ground. In fact, that's how the vast majority of our do-it-yourselfers undercoat their vehicles. Woolwax will creep and migrate into all the inaccessible areas. Just spray it on the best you can and the woolwax will get where it needs to go. If you are in an area that gets significant snow and salt, we highly recommend the Woolwax formulation over the Fluid Flim, as it is much more resistant to wash-off and will provide protection for a longer period.

**Q: Is this a siphon spraygun or is it is pressurized can spray gun?**
A: This Woolwax applicator gun is a siphon type gun. It operates at 70-90 PSI. The cannister is not pressurized. It does an excellent job of spraying Woolwax undecoating.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ KNow what your doing
*by C***K on August 15, 2023*

When i first started out with this gun it wouldnt spray. You have to have the silver tip on the gun for it to spray if you are not going to use the longer hoses... Just screw in the silver tip just enough to hold it but not all the way in, as the instructions tell you.Do the same with the longer hoses if you use them. It seems like it helped not filling up the plastic bottles all the way because this clogged up the little holes on top of the gun that are above the bottles.Keep the little holes open.Keep the bottles about 3/4 of the way full. I ordered a gallon of wool wax and it came in on a 95 degree day.I added just about two regular home spoons filled with vegetable oil to help thin it just a little bit more.I easily used a funnel to put the wool wax in the plastic bottles. I did the inside of a truck frame with the wool wax.The single longer hose with just one hole in it really moves some product. The shorter hose with the 360 degree nozzle worked well, but be patient. It has many holes in it so is doesnt seem as if its working in comparison to the longer hose with the single hole in the nozzle. At first I used the inside of a trash can to spray the wool wax to make sure I had the gun working properly. If your using the 360 degree shorter hose....just take your time.....I went back after using the 360 degree nozzle and checked the inside of the frame,it was completely covered It was amazing. So there you have it....if you do these things you should have no problems. Also keep the white plastic guard on the gun,it keeps the wool wax from shooting back up into your face. When i first used it with a plastic bottle completely filled,it shot out of the holes and into my face because I didnt have the plastic guard on the gun over the holes, but that was my fault because in overfilling the bottle,I clogged up the holes.Wear your safety glasses. What I loved is that the wool wax didnt leave a greasy residue on my hands and cleaned up easily. Whats amazing about wool wax,is that its a wax.I dont know what else is added to the wax,if they do add to the wax but there was no smell.I would wear a simple dust mask if you do not have adequate ventilation, not because it smells but to keep from breathing it. Some automotive sprays which loosen bolts have a terrible odor.Since there is no odor with Wool wax ,I can continue working in the garage no problems. Its amazing to look in the frame and see its completely covered inside! The shorter 360 degree hose was long enough to manipulate inside the frame, using the exhisting holes in the frame to get complete 100 percent coverage.I didnt need a longer hose. I didnt need to put any tarp on the garage floor because there was little to no overspray doing the inside of the truck frame. If you just use the the gun without the hoses under your vehicle, there still probably wouldnt be much overspray. Wool wax is amazing.I cant see how the inside of the truck frame could rust now.You want some truck with your Wool Wax????Wooooooo!!! lol
