Pour it directly on to any area where an accident occurred (sometimes my baby squats too close to the edge of the litter box and pees over the edge - purposefully, I'm pretty sure - grrr....)... Anyway, just wipe up the "accident", then pour this product onto the floor to get rid of the smell that's inevitably left behind even after wiping up... It also actually soaks up whatever liquid had seeped into the laminate wood flooring, too - just let it it sit until you see it change color indicating that it has soaked up the liquid, then sweep or vacuum it up. Due to the limited room arrangement options, my cat's littler box is right under my lofted bed... which is in small room in a basement. So you could say I was a little desperate to find something that would help fight the smell.I got this back in September, and I've definitely noticed a difference in the odor. Directly, it smells kinda citrus-y, and it's also very potent. I clean my cat's litter box about once every 3 days, and I sprinkle a bit of this on top of the litter when I'm done. The first day it definitely helps to prevent the smell. But around day 3, it starts to smell a bit like poopy perfume. Part of this is probably due to the fact that my cat likes to dig in her litter box for fun, and this causes the deodorizer to sink to the bottom of the box. I Know that it sinks down because when I clean her box, there's a little layer of yellow powder at the bottom. The particles of this are much smaller than the litter, so all it takes is gravity and a digging accomplice.Overall, this is better than baking soda in helping prevent that lovely litter box smell, although its scent does fade after a while. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Smells really pleasant *by L***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2016* This is a staple in my home!
