Unlike every other footrest that is just a block (of one sort or another), this one has flex and give, so the knees don't get fatigued, adapts to angles of feet and ankles (roll your ankles while still on the footrest. When I get groggy, I use it as a lumbar support for quick crunches, (sides, too), then under hips for back crunches. Standup, kick it under my couch when not in use. The thick plastic over the bladder and width provides better stability than most wobble cushions. This will require more activity than something like the new Wurf board but not so much that I can't concentrate on my work. Padded mats just don't give enough variable foot action to prevent fatigue.
