It slams shut then bounces open and then takes forever to close - anyone have any tips?** A: With the door shut and the closer attached at the door jamb but not attached at the bracket on the door there should be about a 1 inch gap. In other words you should have about1 inch to pull on the closer to pin it at the door. This will allow the door to close slowly to about a inch before the closer "lets go" to close the final inch. Seems like good quality, and has adjustment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extremely easy to install, even on a storm door in 30 mph winds *by S***S on March 17, 2021* This was a easy install taking less than 10 minutes including drilling the pilot holes. The screws that come with are probably reasonable but my door is very heavy and exposed to significant NE winds (which pulled out and damaged the last closer I had). I chose to use 3.5 inch screws instead to make sure I was locked deep into the frame and beyond. If you are using this on a screen door you shouldn't need anything other than what was provided. Like all pneumatic closers that I have worked with, there is that slam at the end to make sure it latches and has nothing to do with the adjustable closing speed easily refined with a quarter to half turn to the screw on the closer. You can adjust how much of a slam there is by adjusting the bracket on the door (moving it father away) but it still exists and was quite aggressive on this model before I adjusted it. The price is right and it is working well.
