If all you have is nicad, UPGRADE, You wont regret it! *by R***. on February 23, 2017* It's my one stop shop for any project. However I do suggest buying the hammer drill attachment from the craftsman It fits perfectly and is needed for any masonry work. The bottom left pocket where the manuals are and little pads for sandpaper etc is where I stick the hammer drill since it's longer than the black & decker one. I haven't had any issues with the battery running out of power mid job and have used it quite a few times. Also it's physically lighter than the old nicad powered drills from years ago and with the fast charger you can have a fully charged standard sized battery (20V 1.5Ah) fully charged in 45 minutes and its 100% safe to leave the batteries on charge constantly so you're never left with an uncharged battery. Also they don't lose charge fast when unplugged and on the shelf either. (were talkin' years not weeks) You can currently get a 2 pack of batteries on amazon for under 50 bucks. Quite the steal considering how long these batteries last for and how quick they charge with the fast charger.
