Regards **Q: Does this unit have a built-in fan for cooling?** A: The version of this unit that I purchased did not have a fan installed, but there is space for a fan, and vent slits in the case, plus a connector on the board that you can plug a fan into. I purchased a 40 x 40 x 10mm 4010 12V 0.10A Brushless DC Cooling Fan 2pin AV-F4010MB which worked perfectly - I used pieces of cardboard to hold the fan in place. The case works OK but I had difficulties with the drive having trouble recognizing some blu-ray discs for some reason. Even without a fan, the Mercury or Vantec enclosures are better choices IMO. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great enclosure for long, 5.25"-width Optical Disk Drives! *by R***R on January 25, 2022* The most important thing to know about this enclosure is this: It will hold extra-long, 5.25"-width ODD's, as well as smaller sizes, making it more adaptable. I tried another brand, and it was too short to accommodate my ODD.Also, this enclosure features an e-SATA port, and most of the other brands for 5.25"-width ODD's do not.My only complaint, if any, is that the screws for the case are rather small. One will need a small, Philips' screwdriver in order to assemble the case correctly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THE SMALL SCREWS NOT THAT GOOD ON TOP SIDE AND BOTTOM SIDE OF DRIVE HOUSING *by D***L on August 17, 2021* IT WORKS FINE FOR SSD.
