He was looking for a bike to have at home to stay in shape. He lost 10-15 pounds taking the classes and did not want to put it back on. He shopped around for a few months while keeping in shape and keeping off the weight using a bike trainer. Bike trainers are not that useful as you have set gears and no smooth increase of resistance. We found this bike, and saw that it had good reviews. Once we had it shipped home, my husband put it together and liked the way it worked. It is a smooth ride and works well. It is comparable to the one in the studio but takes a little more turning to add the resistance. The handle bars shake a bit when tightened all the way but nothing I can't deal with. When the resistance is increased the noise isn't bad but could be better, I just turn up the music a little more. I did buy a extra pad for the seat but not sure if it was needed. Like it so far with no real malfunctions yet.Nov, 5th 2013I'm still happy with this bike. My only complaint would be the noise level when cranking up the resistance. It can get a little loud when I'm trying to get a workout in early in the morning while the house is quite. Still no malfunctions.
