I will be purchasing a larger one ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Impressed *by J***Y on August 23, 2026* Excellent quality! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ New level of fun cooking on the griddle with the larger 23x16 griddle *by M***S on January 5, 2024* So initial impressions and the good parts: 1. I ordered the 23x16 inch version and while I didn't check it with the tape measure it seems pretty much right comparing it to the grates on my Bull grill. Definitely the right size if you're going to be cooking for more than 2 ish people with multiple items (think bacon, eggs and pancakes going at the same time). 2. Some of the other reviewers mentioned that the unit had sharp edges so I was careful handling the unit initially and checked all the off the edges. The edges were fresh metal sharp but not cut your finger on accident sharp on my unit. 3. I had no issues with warping and have run the unit with surface temps at 350-400 degF. But I did follow about a 1 hour "seasoning" process starting the unit on about 1/4 flame for 15 minutes then moving to 1/2 for 15, 3/4 for 15 and then full for 15. I don't know if its a big risk but throwing this on a grill out of the box and taking it right up to max heat and then throwing a bunch of cold meat on it could see some warping issues potentially. 4. The griddle surface is easy to cook on and I didn't find I needed a ton of oil to keep things from sticking. The catch basin at the front is a good size for extra oil and crud as you cook but keep in mind that if you overflow it that's oil and grease going straight to the flame and you're probably looking at a fairly good grease fire. I never even came close to this even with a bunch of bacon grease, etc as the catch bin is decent size but just something to watch for. 5. Ok so this is the big one for me. Cooking on the griddle is fun I've done a couple of big family breakfasts, cheesesteaks and burgers and I'm living the short order cook dream with the big spatulas. I've got a fairly wide grill so I've also been able to cook chicken breast on the grates off to the side while toasting buns and doing onions on the griddle at the same time so it's added some versatility as well. Thinking about which size to order you might want to thing about whether you want to be able to grill at the same time. 6. Clean up has been pretty easy so far. When the foods off I let it heat back up a little then give it a quick scrape. Wipe it off with a wet towel and then turn off the heat. I usually come back when its a little cooler (not too hot to handle but not fully cool) to dump and wipe out the grease trap and give it a final wipe down. So far that's been working well and I'm developing a reasonable level of seasoning on the grill. One note I'll make is that I've seen several reviews about the grill being "dirty" and difficult to clean. I don't think its hard to clean but keep in mind you have the carbon buildup on the surface which is part of the seasoning process so "clean" still means a bunch of black color on the stainless. Ok so that's the good stuff and the high points. So here's the bad. 1. Heat distribution is good/ok but not perfect. My bull burners are relatively even but there are minor hot spots at the fronts. With the griddle I'm getting about a 70-80 degree difference between the hottest and coolest parts of the griddle (IR temp gun measurements). This is generally ok for cooking on the griddle as being able to push onions, etc off to the side to finish cooking on a cooler spot while doing something else is good. But there is a fair amount of temperature different front to back as well so you just have to keep it in mind. To be fair, I've never used a dedicated griddle like a Blackstone so maybe this is the way they all work. 2. Heat retention I think could be better if you could sit this down in place of the grates. I really wish there was a 19" deep version so I could remove my grates and let it sit on the grate support. I think being slightly lower would help with better heat retention. 3. Storage is a little finicky. It's not an issue the manufacturer can do anything about but think about where you want to keep it when you're not using it on the grill. I mostly just store it on the grill itself, but when I'm actually grilling I realized I don't have a great place to put it. The smaller one would fit on its side in the storage area under my grill head but the big one is tougher to put away.
