I chose it because I wanted something with a mirror. The mirror is a heavy, high-quality glass that provides a true reflection. The exterior dimensions are 6-1/4" x 4". Interior dimensions are 6" x 3-5/8" and about 1/4" deep. It latches and closes very securely. The good thing about this makeup holder is that it is very sturdily made, nice looking and really does a superior job of holding your cosmetics. The only down side at all is that the quality weighs quite a bit! This thing weighs in at 9.4 ounces empty. So if weight is a factor in your decision, this might not be the best choice for you. If it weighed a couple ounces less, I would have given it 5 stars, but then maybe the quality would not be what I like, so it's kind of a toss-up on that issue.
