I use one receiver upstairs and another down in the basement. We put the sender around her neck during the day and hang it on the bed's headboard at night. Who knows how long the battery lasts. I have outdoor electric outlets and will use a cord to run the third receiver out in the yard during warmer weather. We moved my father-in-law with us 8 months ago and he lives in our downstairs area.
