Hundreds of people are already successfully using it and are thrilled by the photos produced. Astronomy photos taken using the MiniTrack will definitely attract attention!Better astronomy photos - anywhere in the northern hemisphereDon't just bring holiday photos back home from your trip with you, take home stunning astronomy photos too. And it's a lot easier than you may think. All you need is a tripod, the MiniTrack mount, a ball-head and your camera. Reduced to the essentials it still does the job - producing good astronomy photos that anyone can take. And it does exactly that!60 minutes of mechanical trackingThe MiniTrack has a clockwork heart, electronics have no place. A precision movement accurately tracks your camera. Wind-up the MiniTrack with its cord, like an analogue clock, and it will start tracking immediately and continue for 60 minutes. This mount will never flag, even in freezing conditions. Your new mount can even take a telephoto lens. It is no coincidence that this 'expert' in wide-field photography has won the hearts of amateur astronomers.Like a counterweight - the powerful spring systemThe MiniTrack is extremely compact and needs no accessories such as a counterweight. That is because it's already been built-in - in the form of a spring system. As your camera starts to be tracked, the spring both supports the weight and looks after the tracking. Take this mount in your luggage on flights and leave your main mount at home.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do i need anything more than this and my dslr?**
A: A tripod is needed and a remote shutter release makes things easier.

**Q: Is this the ns version since the name of the product here is not labelled as ns?**
A: Hello,
No, this is the NS version

Thanks in advance

**Q: Does it included a polar finder ?**
A: Yes. The polar finder is actually a short plastic tube (3' long by .5" diam.) with no optical help, so accuracy isn't precise. Surprisingly, I found that the accuracy is actually good if you stay within the exposure guidelines in the instructions.

**Q: Is this the latest model which will track in Southern and Northern Hemisphere?**
A: Hello,
This is the NS version for Southern and Northern Hemisphere

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars

    Great value, compact & effective!

Product is pretty straightforward to set up. The photos are from my first attempt using it and are edited version of multiple shots stacked. If you wear glasses, take them off when you do your polar alignment. Still figuring out when to adjust the spring tension but should be easy enough with a couple of test shots. Exceptionally pleased with the results I got from this ultra compact little tracker. No batteries or computers or heavy weight gear was awesome and this would be your best bet for tracked shots on locations that require hiking to. 10/10 would recommend!

Great tracker for the price that produces some amazing results

I've been wanting to get an astro tracker to use with my Canon 6D for years, but haven't been able to afford paying $400 or more for one. A friend recommended this one to me and so far I've been amazed at how well it works for the price. I've only shot 17-30mm tracked Milky Way shots with it, but the results are awesome. It's basically a wind-up clock motor, but humans have had milleniums to perfect this technology and it does the job quite well. Very simple to set up, roughly align with Polaris (the north star) and then shoot away without breaking the bank.

    Bang for your buck

I must say, I was a little skeptical using a wind up clock drive for astrophotography. This nifty device can produce good results. I use a Olympus MFT with a vintage Olympus 135mm f/2.8 (270mm crop factor) and can get up to a 60 second exposure. The Pleiades photo is a single 60 second exposure. I can safely get a 30 second exposure with the setup.I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that the documentation is poor and the springy thingy is confusing. There are some tracking issues as well. I shot 30, 30 second exposures of Orion and had to discard 16 images due to tracking errors (more than 50%). I am sure it's due to the springy thingy and with a little testing I should get better results. So, If you want an light and economical astrophotography rig, then this tracker is for you. I may change my rating to 5 stars once I figure out the springy thingy.
