I had it on a timer from dusk to midnight for half the year so doing the math, it probably lasted 1.5 years of continuous use take that info in your decision. Our fountain is about 3’ high This light ring is installed in the shaft drilled through the fountain and mounted into the end of the plastic water tubing. So the water shoots out through the light ring. Very bright and colorful. It would be fun to be able to control the light colors, timing and intensity. But adding that function would put the pricing a lot higher. Looks really great at night. Well worth the price. Replaced a four year old blue LED light ring. This one is much brighter and, of course, more colorful. Dimensions: Ring inside opening diameter: 5/8" . Ring outside diameter: 1 5/16". Ring thickness (height): 5/8". —- Update 12/2020: The first one eventually failed. Some of the led lights burned out. Whatever they are using to waterproof the light ring does not do an adequate job, I live in Austin, TX, so it does not get cold and does not freeze. It still looked pretty good, so I left it in place until it failed totally in June, 2025. I had a spare one which I also bought in 2020, so I replaced the failed light ring. Now it looks bright and beautiful again. I just ordered a spare from Ocean Mist, and it looks just the same as the older 2020 units. My revised evaluation is that this light ring looks gorgeous in a water fountain, but expect to get 6 months to 5 years use before a replacement is necessary. LED's fail, or a one color fails.
