PRO1 IAQ T701 Non-Programmable Electronic Thermostat 4.7"W x 4.4"H x 1.1"D

After our a/c went on the fritz we called a company to fix our a/c unit. After the a/c unit was fixed we discovered that the thermostat also went bad. The company used this pro1 t701 to replace the Honeywell thermostat we had. At first I was disappointed because they replaced the Honeywell with a brand I have never heard of. But after a few weeks if using the this Pro1, I ended up liking it. It was very easy to read and ato set the temperature. The buttons were so much easier to press compared to my old Honeywell. About a year later, the other Honeywell thermostat upstairs went bad. I looked online and searched for the Pro1. I ordered it and came within 2 days. After looking at the wiring diagram from the first thermostat, I wired the second one the same way. It was easy and worked right away. The only "con" I can see is that if you are on the shorter side like my little daughter, the numbers disappear or really hard to see. But for normal size adult it shouldn't be an issue. UPDATE: Here we are in December 2024, one of the Pro1 thermostat went out after 5 years. Ordering another one....just installed it, IT WORKS

I just got the T701 to replace a programmable Honeywell that was past its prime. I never did program the original thermostat since I'm mostly home all the time and it only takes a moment to adjust the temps for daytime or nighttime. Installation was very simple... just four color-coded wires. The green wire in my system was actually blue so I made a note of that before proceeding so I wouldn't forget and run into trouble. Things I like about this thermostat: Very large, easy to read numerals, came with good Duracell AA batteries and not junky house brand "starter" cells, batteries easy to replace from front of unit without having to take the whole thing off the wall. Things I don't like? It doesn't cook me breakfast. If you're looking for a solid, dependable thermostat without a lot of useless bells and whistles, look no further than the Pro1 T-701.

Easy to install, works great

This thermostat was easy to install as it snapped into the same sub-base as the programmable electronic one that we were replacing. The display numbers are nice and large making the room temperature easy to read. For whatever reason the programmable one became "possessed" with a mind of its own every time the electric power was interrupted. This replacement thermostat is working great and easy to operate. We recommended this to our neighbor who was having the same problem and they purchased the same replacement.

Nice large display. Simple and straightforward operation. Shows both setpoint and current temperature on the display. Batteries (2 AAs) can be changed without removing unit from the wall. Shows low battery warning 20+ days before they must be changed. This is the ideal, no bells and whistles thermostat that should be sold at department and home improvement stores. Price is a bit steep here because this brand isn't normally sold direct to consumers.

Exactly what I was looking for. It is a basic single stage heat/AC Thermostat. Battery compartment is in the front and easy to change out the 2 AA batteries. My heating and AC technician recommended this model and installed it when he came to service the furnace. If you try and install it yourself, make sure you turn the circuit breaker off to the furnace and take extra care connecting the red wire. Installing it wrong can cause damage to the furnace and result in costly repairs.

I love this thermostat! So easy to use. I am at home all the time and I do not need a 'programmable' thermostat. And I have never had one yet in any of the places I've lived that I UNDERSTOOD completely. This is so simple! On, off, up down (temp) and you are DONE. The backlit display is wonderful and the numbers are large and easy to read. Not ONE problem, highly recommend! I happened to have my AC repairman here when it arrived, so he installed it for me, but it only took him a couple minutes. Thank heavens, no more GUESSING if the AC is off because it's broken or if it's got some kind of 'hidden program' I can't figure out how to get rid of. I'm sure those are great for people who work outside the home, but I have a home office and I can easily adjust my own thermostat when needed.

I have two T701s that are used to control boiler radiant zones, a two wire setup. I like the temperature accuracy, adjustable swing, large temperature display, and easily activated display back light.

Perfect for our needs. Great price. Big, easy-to-read numbers. Simple to install. Simpler to use.

Simple and easy for my elderly mother to use. She could not handle a programmable thermostat.
