Game Changer
Love this tuner. Easy to install and adjust. Works perfectly. Saves a lot of time dropping to D during shows. Allows me to use a 4 string bass for songs that would require a 5 before.

Excellent
I have purchased a couple of these Hipshot Extenders now. These fit directly onto my Schecter Omen Extreme and my Ibanez MiKro short scale bass. I had a guitar shop install the first one, but it really is super easy to install it yourself, as I did with on the MiKro.I use this in conjunction with the Digitech drop tuner pedal for rapid tuning changes between songs on Rocksmith 2014. It works flawlessly. I plan on adding a Hipshot Extender to almost everything I play.Because of how much I like this device, they’ve seriously got me looking at their bridges and locking tuning machines as well. Great company with cool products!

Best bass accessory ever!
A lot of songs can really benefit by using drop D tuning, Sometimes the whole songs, sometimes a chorus or a bridge or just for the final note after the drummer plays a big fill. This product makes it easy to go from E to D with the flip of a switch. This version fit my 1980's Aria Pro II bass just like the original with no modifications. I have a few others that fit my P-Bass and Jazz bass just as well. I use it so often that as a preforming musician all of my basses have one.Would have given it 5 stars, but the finish on this one was slightly pitted. (all 4 of my others were perfect and would get 5 stars)Highly recommended.

Worked great for my Spector
I used this for a 2002 Spector Euro4 LX bass. It fit perfectly with no holes needed to be drilled. I use this bass for Eflat tuning (half step down), and added it to the E string, which drops it to C sharp. It matches the other Gotoh tuners perfectly, and performs as it should with no issues at all.I only gave it 3 stars for "easy to install", however this is not a fault with the item, its just a little tricky removing the old tuner and adding this. If youre not comfortable working on your guitar, get a luthier (you dont want to strip out screw holes or crack/scratch your finish).Amazon pricing was fantastic, and I saved about $50 dollars versus buying directly or at a music store.

No wonder it was so cheap
The tuner’s threads look stripped and the ferrule didn’t seem to hold tightly like other Hipshot detuners that I have purchased. I also noticed that the tuner’s backplate seemed to be pre-lubricated with some sort of Vaseline type product. I’ve applied lubricant to other Hipshots (per enclosed instructions), but I have never seen one with lubricant applied to a new item. This, IMO, is a used, non-functioning tuner. There are a couple of other reviews showing this type of tuner with rusty threads and some show the chrome peeling off. This is the first negative experience I’ve ever had with a Hipshot product. Just buy the full priced Hipshots from a reputable dealer.
