First wooden rolling pin -- NICE!
Wow, why did it take me so long to figure out that a wooden rolling pin is the way to go? I've been using plastic (!!) for way too many years. I like the weight of this in my hands. It feels perfect -- easy to use and roll. Not too heavy and not too light. It's also *beautiful* to look at. It really is a beautiful kitchen tool. I like the tapered ends, as well. It's ergonomic and makes rolling pie crusts so easy. I highly recommend this -- you won't regret your purchase.

Love it!
Love this rolling pin. Perfect for my amateurish pastries and breads while also looking just so nice in the kitchen. Almost a year together and it looks good as new.

This thing is pretty nice
I use this to make pastry doughs at work because our chef left and the French rolling pin was his. His is bigger which at the time I didn't know, however I got used to the smaller size and it works well for me. It fits perfectly in my knife roll because of this. It rolls nice and it's comfortable and easy to use, it's tricky to clean the ends and the logo if you half ark it I usually scrub lightly and spray twice. It's very light but sturdy. I would recommend if you'd like something smaller than a typical rolling pin if you can work with it, if not, see if it comes in a bigger size.

This rolling pin is beautiful. The walnut wood is smooth and authentic
This rolling pin is beautiful. The walnut wood is smooth and authentic. The only issue is that there's a rough edge on one side, but it is a small imperfection for the price. I'd recommend this product to a friend.

Perfect for the home cook/chef
The pin feels good but it is not overly heavy or difficult to use. While maybe not ideal for a commercial approach, any home cook will find this more than adequate enough for their needs. I applied some mineral oil upon receipt and then let it dry out. I then used to make a flatbread, homemade pasta, and then roll out pizza dough. There was no sticking and despite hearing complaints about the taper leading to uneven rolling I found it to be more effective than my traditional bearing pin. Highly recommended and the grain and color are beautiful.

This Pin Made me a Better Person.
This is more beautiful than a photo can show. This rolling pin made me feel like an Italian baker who had been rolling dough for 50 years with no measuring devices or modern equipment. It actually does sharpen one's rolling skill due to the absence of an axle. Also, it will do wonders for anyone's romantic life. When your lovers see you rolling out dough with this elegant wooden phallus (regardless of whether you are male or female, or something in between), they will want you. It has the effect of an aphrodisiac. I stand with it and look at myself in the mirror. Then, I have to take a cold shower to remind myself that I am a mere mortal with average baking skill but above-average ambition. I love this thing.

Not just functional - almost an object d'art
I've always wanted a french rolling pin, and finally decided to get one. While many are made of a lighter wood, when I saw this walnut version, I was sold. And it didn't disappoint in person. Very smooth, well made in the U.S. It's a nice long size, too, and versatile in that you can have hands on both ends, or just one hand on either end. That's more a function of a french rolling pin, not just this one. But this is a work of art. I applied mineral oil right when I got it, which brought out the grain. I will use a food grade was from now on. It's worth the extra money.

I Feel like a Fancy French Pastry Chef with my French Rolling Pin.
I feel like a fancy French pastry Chef with my French Rolling Pin. For one, it's just so pretty, the wood is beautiful not to mention it's much easier to control when rolling out pastries, pies, cookies etc than and the kind with the handles. Get one and you will feel like a Super Baker. Be sure and oil it a couple times in the beginning and once in a while. Also, it's easy to rinse off just dry it off really good. Have fun!
