Hatch Grow Smart Changing Pad and Scale (White)

This changing pad was so helpful to me as a first time mama. I nursed exclusively and this was so helpful to track how many oz. of milk he was getting early on. I would weigh him before and after our feedings to track how much milk he was getting. Then after that point it was just nice to be able to easily weigh him in between pediatrician appointments.

I am a first time mama! Before my little girl was born I was obsessed with preparing for her arrival with the best, most innovative products. Once she was born, I found that some products were unnecessary. But that was not the case with the smart changing table pad! It is truly innovative! The scale connects to an multi-purpose app that is both user-friendly and visually appealing. I love the convenient dual function that it provides as it combines two products in one; Both a diaper changing necessity and health monitoring tool! The size is nice as it will suit her even as she grows and will fit on top of any standard changing table.The scale was so helpful during the early weeks of breastfeeding with my little one. I was able to monitor how much breastmilk she was drinking by weighing her before and after a feed. It is so absolutely relieving to make sure she was getting the food she needs!This is a product that provides what you pay for and will get plenty of use! I purchased this thinking I would be using it to weigh baby before/after breastfeeding. Unfortunately, my breastfeeding journey was cut short due to supply issues. BUT I still use the scale feature all the time. It's really nice to know how much she's weighing, the app is also super handy in keeping track of all sorts of things. It is a little more expensive, but for us totally worth it.I will say the pad is made of some sort of plastic, so it's a hard surface, baby doesn't seem to mind as long as she's not on there for a long time. It's super easy to clean, but we still put a pad down to make cleaning it even easier.

Our baby was born 5lbs full-term so we constantly stress about if he’s gaining weight. With breastfeeding there is no way to know exactly how much he was feeding so we wanted a scale to help guide us. The Hatch has been perfect for this. I can’t speak to how precise it is (I didn’t place a scientifically measured weight on it to see what it said) but I will say based on the weights at the doctors office it’s very good. It is great for consistency... pre- and post- feed weighs and showing over the course of a week or few days the progress the little guy is making. What’s even better is the app. It is necessary to use the scale (there is no screen that shows the weight). But it records the weights, feed time/amounts, diapers, timing and duration of feeds, sleep, pumping schedule, etc. You can enter data manually or hit the start button and have the app record it for you. There is a dashboard that keeps the info readily available so you know when the next feed will be.

1. Nicely designed, simple and sturdy! The material grips any surface and you don't have to worry about it moving around. The design is also sleek and fits nicely on top of my baby's dresser.2. The smart scale is game changing. I had encountered so many feeding issues with my first baby that I knew I needed a scale at home with the second. I can't tell you how exhausting and stressful it was to go to the hospital every 2 days to check my baby's weight and ensure he was getting enough milk. The scale and app work flawlessly and are pretty easy to use.3. It's a changing pad too so one less bulky item to keep around! Very easy to clean which is a plus when you have a new born for sure.I highly recommend this product, especially for new moms. It will bring you so much reassurance and take the guessing out of a stressful situation!

We tried to connect it to multiple different devices (an iPhone 15 max pro, an android, an iPad, you name it). It would not connect and kept saying there was a firmware update and then it would crash and say “critical failure”. We followed every troubleshoot step by step on their website.I contacted Hatch directly to address and first of all, they do not monitor the email address that the app tells you to contact. As in do not monitor it at all! So I had to go find a different contact email and then they didn’t reply for nearly a week.Finally, they answered and their advance was to take out the batteries and put them back in… as if I hadn’t tried that…they offered no other solutions.So then I tried to contact them over the phone so someone could help me trouble shoot live and they apparently do not take live phone calls (that’s what their voice mail says!)For a $150 changing pad - it just was not worth my time or trouble to figure out how to make it work. Without connecting to the device, I cannot use the weighing mechanism so it was utterly pointless. Might as well buy a $50 changing pad that also is easy to clean. Which is what I did! Returning the Hatch and buying a new basic changing pad.Also I agree with other reviewers that the legs fall off easily. This is our second hatch grow bc the first one we bought arrived with a broken off leg.Don’t waste your money on this! If you want data on your baby’s weight just get another accurate scale and a separate changing pad.I already have two other Hatch devices (sound machines) that frankly are not really worth the price either so I think I’m going to stop at 2, and never buy anything else from them again.
