Hellboy Playing Cards, Multicolor

Love Mike Mignola and Hellboy, but this seems like a bit of a missed opportunity for me. Illustrations are basically just slapped in the middle of the card. It doesn't look too bad on the image, but in person they look underwhelming. Could have used some framing, perhaps? However, the worst part is the color. The color palette is limited and way too dark. Hellboy himself, draped by a large snake, is just all one dark brown shade (including trenchcoat, and snake), which makes it impossible to appreciate any detail in Mignola's beautiful drawings.I compared the actual cards with the color that appears on the image on screen, and is definitely a shade darker. Note only A K Q J, and Jokers have illustrations, but that really wasn't an issue for me as much as the muddied color. For less that $6, they're not bad enough to loose sleep over, but this could have been so much better.

Hellboy is on a set of playing cards. For the price I can't complain. They are just playing cards. Nothing special. They can't conjure demons or ward off goblins. They can let your poker pals know the you have exceptional taste, that's what is most important in life. Being respected, and making more people give Hellboy a chance.

The face card designs are great renditions of Mignola's art and the stock feels decent for a $5 deck of cards.I bought two since they were so cheap and right out of the box for both decks, a few of the cards have scratches and noticeable impressions in the card stock.Not sure if this was a bad batch, but that was disappointing. Would have been a 4 star product if not for that imperfection, but I still can't complain.

It was no problem as a playing card but it was also disappointed that it only includes 16 cards with character-illustration, otherwise all remain are only number and symbol with hand-writing-ish. I expected all card has own character-illustration... even it was too cheap for that quality.....>Above, I wrote it once but I realized it was my misunderstanding about playing card... 16 picture-cards are absolutely right figure as playing card. So I change the score 3 to 5 as the cards are awesome.

I was a bit sceptical due to poor reviews about it being faded or damaged, but my particular deck of cards made it with no damage :). They are really nice and feel just like normal cards with great poppin art. I just keep mine on display and have not used them yet but im sure they will be eventually xD

Mike Mignola’s art style haunts me. I love it and these cards are wonderful displays of that

Got them as a gift for my dad he totally loves them! Will have to get another pack for myself!
