Sing A Song Of Sixpence

These beautifully produced songs and rhymes (originally issued by the BBC) are drawn from the huge catalogue of nursery rhymes and tunes which is in danger of becoming lost in the onslaught from TV, film, Disney, and cartoons. The vocabulary is often old-fashioned and unusual (but then isn't that the case with much good literature, children's and adults' alike?) and this contributes considerably to children's early language development. There are many other nursery rhyme collections but none to match this (and its sister cds)

Bought for my 2 year old grandaughter but we dont know half of the songs and they are difficult to locate as they are in the form of a mix, not separate tracks and the index is not in any sort of order.

This CD is produced by the BBC and so has a quality that others do not. The rhymes are sung by two adults so the diction is clear and understandable and the quality of the music accompaniment is wonderful, never drowning out the singers. Don't be put off by the fact that it has been around for a while, it was the best when it was produced and still is today.

Some of the tracks are from the Dick Van Dyke school of singing - 'Ot Cross Buns for example. This CD features your more traditional nursery rhymes, some of which I hadn't heard before. The quality is good though and my 2 and 4 year old seem to enjoy the disk, even if I do find the accents a bit off putting. I much prefer the BBC "Wheels on the Bus".

I bought this CD to use in the English (as a second language) lessons. It is described as an audio book, the shipping fee (abroad) is more expensive than the CD itself, and it's just a plain CD. No booklet with the lyrics, and not even a proper list of tracks with the titles of the songs. Useless in class without long web researches. I was very disappointed. However the quality of the music is good.

I enjoyed this collection if nursery rhymes very much especially for very young learners. It is OK both as accompaniment during lesson time as well as a learning support

This is a good selection of nursery rhymes, but sung a little too fast. The children have however enjoyed listenting to it.

You wont get bored with this cd. The songs are short and the musics are great. We play it almost everyday for over a year now. Our toddler knows the song by heart and it does help us with the vocabs since we are raising her in 3 languages.

Questo cd contiene tantissme (60) canzoncine per bambini. Sono le classiche che i bambini inglesi sentano e imparano sin da piccoli. E' un utile strumento per fare imparare l'inglese come anche il cd Wheels on the Bus della stessa serie. Tutte le canzoncine sono cantate in coppia da un uomo e una donna inglesi (non americani).

Cd non troppo brillante! Mi ha un po' deluso! Non lo ricomprerei! Consegna perfetta e in tempi giusti! Non consiglio

Im Vergleich zu Incy Wincy Spider kommt diese CD bei uns leider schlecht weg. Sehr einfallslos vertont. Wir waren enttäuscht.
